So, I will be leaving Las Vegas next weekend. August 2nd. I am going home to Detroit to get some things in order and then it's NYC-Here I come! I have always wanted to live in New York and I think living in Vegas has given me the emotional and financial skills to handle it. Sure, New York is more expensive. But, I am a better money manager because of my LV experience.
The past 10 months have been a blast! I have enjoyed warm weather, saw some really great shows (in Vegas and Utah), met some incredible people and learned a lot about myself and what I want. I have also learned a lot from my job out here about media and radio. It's been a great experience and I am so proud of myself for having the courage and the fortitude to do it on my own. I feel more grounded, centered and focused than ever before.
My goals over the next three years are to get my master's degree, I want to live in NYC and overseas at some point. I feel like such a gypsy. I feel so free! I feel like I can do anything and all these experiences are making me a better writer and a person, ultimately.
I am not looking forward to the long drive. But, it will be okay.
I am going to miss Vegas a little bit. I have gotten used to my little apartment.
It's on to the next adventure!
