Yesterday was Sunday and Day 5 of my new official writing lifestyle and I didn't get a chance to blog because I went to the Pistons game and then to a Karaoke bar. FYI, Allen Iverson is still beautiful and I really enjoyed watching him play! Enough with the gushing....
Today is Day 6 and I have some news. I finally received a response from an internship I applied for in New York about two months ago for a publishing company. The editor there finally responded! I am so thrilled to finally be getting feedback and responses from people in my field. It's great! He told me to email him with a good time to call this week so we can discuss the internship. I would love to do that internship, but I just got an internship that begins Monday and could possibly turn into a full-time gig. Although, they did let me know that it's not guaranteed. And, I don't necessarily have a place to stay full-time in NYC if I do get the internship in Manhattan. In addition to those two things, I would have to find some other form of income because the internship is paid, but it's only 10-15 hours a week. I wouldn't know what to do and what the best route to take would be if I end up landing this gig as well. Having an internship at a publishing company would be amazing. I would love to learn about the publishing industry being an aspiring author and all. That knowledge would be really valuable! We'll see I am going to set up a time to talk to the editor and just keep praying for insight and to make the right decision to lead me in the right direction. I am going to take it a day at a time.
I also heard from the 12-month writing gig/contract that I was telling you guys about. They didn't say anything exciting. They just repeated what they had already told me before about the interview process still not being in progress as of yet.
I haven't heard from DC yet. But, I am still crossing my fingers on that and hoping to hear a response from them really soon.
I will let you know if today brings forth anymore exciting news. In the meantime, have a great rest of your day and I will be writing later.
