What's up guys? I am trying to blog more and keep you guys posted on my dream chasing.
Last week I competed in Oktoberfest to get into the finals for Arizona Iced Tea's comedy competition. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the finals or else I would've blogged sooner. LOL...Just kidding. Anytime I get to perform is a triumph for me. I still can't believe I even do stand-up and I really can't believe how in love with it I am. The competition was a success, actually, because I had over 30 people there cheering for me sending me positive energy and love. I could feel it from the minute I stepped on stage until the minute I left the building. It was totally awesome! I love every one of you that came out for me that night and those who couldn't make it but who sent their well wishes. Thank you so much!
I have been soooooo busy. So busy! Did I say busy?!...I have been doing a lot of freelancing lately which is absolutely beautiful and a blessing! I can't lie, it is overwhelming sometimes because that means I don't sleep a lot trying to manage my jobs as a freelancer and punching the clock at my "normal" job (s) and rehearsing for my play. But, it's great to be busy doing the things I love! I feel like I have kicked 2010's butt! I am doing all the things I love, writing, acting, singing and telling jokes. How many people can say that? It's not easy but I am still able to feed myself and enjoy the occasional beer while doing it. Double blessing!
Additionally, I am also conceptualizing a new look for this blog. I want to be able to tell you about my upcoming shows, show you pictures and video, share my writing clips and just talk with you guys in a better and more interactive way on this blog. So, hopefully, I will have a chance to do that in the very near future. I also plan to post my show at Zanie's in Chicago soon so keep checking back for that.
As I was saying, I am in rehearsals for a play which opens at a tiny little storefront theater called Broadway on Stage next weekend on the 22nd of this month. It's been quite a challenge but it's all about growth and I definitely feel myself growing as an actor from this experience. All creative experiences lend to your growth as a person as well. So, I welcome the challenge and I hope you want to see what I have been working on the past six weeks. Here's information on the show: Sherlock Holmes is Coming to Dinner at Broadway on Stage located at 21517 Kelly Road in Eastpointe, MI. Here's a link to the website: www.broadwayonstage.com
Thank you as always for your support and I hope to see you at one of the shows during our 5 week run!
p.s... I am in an all female comic show on November 11th at Laff Tracks in Novi inside of Breaktime Billiards. The show starts at 8pm. Check back to this blog for details as we get closer to the show.
p.s.s...I will be the emcee at Chaplin's Comedy Club in Clinton Township December 10th and 11th. Keep checking this blog for updates.
