I wanted to tell you guys about the less than successful meeting I had with a talent agent today.
I prepared a monologue and was ready to even sing if I had to but I never got the chance. She had me in her office for less than five minutes and told me that she hated my pictures and that as a theater actor it would probably be hard for me to act for film as it is more true to life and relatable than the stage.
I tried to explain to her that I am a journalist and my education included on-air reporting which I thought was comparable to working on an, for example, commercial. She told me it is not and basically told me to go back to the drawing board.
Per usual, I actually enjoy criticism because I can get pointers to improve and it also motivates me. So, I am going to try to get some training in acting for film and go from there.
Unfortunately, since she didn't even bother to get to the talent portion of my meeting with her, I didn't get to display my acting or singing abilities. I shall continue my search for an agent/manager who sees my potential and not only critiques me but works with me because they believe in me.
I know the right agent is out there for me and I can't wait to meet him/her.
Thanks for reading guys!
Let's talk again soon!
