Hi guys and Happy Saturday!
First of all, if you haven't been to "The Dirty Show" at Bert's Warehouse in downtown Detroit and you appreciate art and you have an open mind, you have until tomorrow to check it out! It's worth a trip. I attended the exhibition last night and enjoyed myself.
Secondly, here is my most recent clip. It's a preview for "RENT" at Stagecrafters in Royal Oak, MI...
Third, I don't have any shows lined up in the near future. But, I will be performing a song and reading a little bit about one of my favorite blues singers, Bessie Smith, this Wednesday, February 23rd. There is a black history month event happening at the Pontiac Public Library from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. that day and I hope you will attend. The library is located at 60 East Pike Street, Pontiac, MI.
Fourth, I started this blog a little while after my return to Detroit from Las Vegas. The blog originally was meant to document my time in Las Vegas so that my friends and family could keep up with my goings-on.
Upon my arrival back in Michigan and my desire to pursue my dreams more aggressively, this blog turned into what it is today-a journal and/or log of my dream pursuit.
The goal is that one day I can look back on this and appreciate the journey because I can read the good, bad and ugly of it all. Also, I write this blog because people constantly ask me for advice on writing and things and this way they can kind of see what I do and go through on my journey and maybe it can help them or inspire them in some way. They get a realistic account of what it is like to be an artist.
I am so proud of myself for having the courage to leave the business casual world and do what I want but I am scared guys. I have no idea where the finish line is and where this adventure is taking me. That's frightening!
Stay tuned to find out if this journey ends up where I want it to end up.
Will I become the next Mitch Albom or will I just be another random blogger and dreamer? I hope not!
Lastly and always, I want to thank anyone who comes to this blog and reads. Your support is everything!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys!
