I hope all is well and if you are here on my blog reading this-thank you so much for your support.
I just want to update you guys on what I have going on or coming up as far as shows.
This past Monday rehearsals began for the show I am in that opens next month. The title of the show is "A Musical Tribute to Vaudeville and Burlesque." It's at the same place I did Sherlock Holmes this past fall at Broadway OnStage located at 21517 Kelly Road in Eastpointe, MI. We open on April 15 and close on May 14. It's a really goofy show and it should be a ton of fun! I have a cute and, of course, classy striptease. No worries, I don't take it all off. I just make you think that I might. It's all in good and clean fun.
I auditioned for a couple of shows recently and I am just waiting to hear back. I will let you know when I do. I think I had pretty solid auditions so now I just have to wait and see what happens.
I've been doing a lot of writing lately. I hope to submit a condensed version of my show loosely based on my own life experiences into a local play festival this month. If you've seen my stand-up before you have a gest of what the play will be like. I started doing stand-up because I was in the process of conceptualizing this show and I wanted to see if the bits were funny.
I've also written a ton of new jokes that I hope to try out at a few open mics this month and I will keep you posted on those dates.
Lastly, here is my most recent writing endeavor for Real Detroit Weekly. It's a preview for Alvin Ailey Dance Theater coming to the Detroit Opera House tomorrow:
