Chasing the Dream...Day 743 Blogging Anniversary & I WANT A BOOK DEAL!!!
Another pic taken by the awesome Salam Zahr (contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org). If you've heard my joke about the differences between the way black and white people eat healthy then you get the inspiration behind this picture. If you haven't heard the joke you should come out to one of my comedy shows!
I hope everyone is doing well this Wednesday!
First of all, I want to let you guys know that I will be doing an all female comedy show at Joey's Comedy Club located at 36071 Plymouth Road, Livonia, MI 48150 on Monday, April 18, 2011 with some other funny ladies and I hope you guys, who are in the area, can come on out and support! I hope to see you there. The show starts at 8 p.m. and you can call 734-261-0555 for more information.
This spring I will be celebrating five years of blogging.
I started blogging back in 2006 with my original blog-it no longer exists. And, I started this one in 2007 upon my arrival to Las Vegas.
I am very excited that my readership has slightly grown since then and I think the blog has gotten better and I hope you think so too. Thank you for reading! If you are not already a subscriber to this blog, please sign up by going to the right margin of this blog and clicking on the area where it says "Subscribe to Sam White's Blog." You want to click on the "Posts" button so that you can get an alert every time I post a new entry here. Yay!
I have been so busy with doing comedy shows and theater and everything else that I really haven't been able to give my manuscript "Everything is not Enough" the time and attention it needs. It is completed but I want a book deal for it. I wrote the book five years ago and I tried once to get an agent and I queried a ton of publishers but I wasn't able to get a bite. Now that I have more experience writing via my blog and my journalistic endeavors, I hope that changes.
I didn't get one of the parts I auditioned for a couple of weeks ago and I still haven't heard back from the other audition. If I don't get anything (theater related) by the summer I will probably use all of my energy toward my comedy and getting a book deal. I also hope I am working full-time somewhere by that time so I can finance a lot of the creative projects I have in mind. Plus, it would be nice to get back to work and have the collaboration and camaraderie of co-workers.
I am hoping the spring brings lots of positive experiences personally and professionally. The last few weeks have been difficult on both fronts.
P.s. To all of my old school readers who have been reading my blog for years now and remember "Sam and the City" I am thinking about bringing back that column but creating another blog dedicated to talking about dating and offering advice. I'm not quite sure if I have the time to do it but if you guys really want it I will go for it! Please let me know by leaving a comment if you are interested in reading a blog like that or feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
Thanks for reading guys!
