Chasing the Dream...Day 752 (Trading my Pumas for Pumps)

Well, it finally happened! I finally found myself a full-time gig. I am working on a campaign for an entertainment company and if all goes well and the campaign turns out the way they hope it will, it will be a permanent position for me. Back to office life I go! Yay!

The great news is that I will have a consistent schedule during the day time which is wonderful for a performer, like myself, who wants to rehearse and perform at night. I feel blessed and I am excited for some stability in my life and schedule.

No worries, I will continue my freelance writing. So, continue to look for more articles from me. Journalism and creative writing have always been and will continue to be at the top of my priority list. Don't forget to check out some of my pieces for local publications that include 944 magazine, Oakland Press and Real Detroit Weekly in the right margin of this blog.

Back to performing, I am doing a musical tribute to Vaudeville and Burlesque mid April to the middle of May and I am channeling my girl Dita Von Teese to get my head into the role. Check her out in this video, she is amazing and I can only hope my striptease will turn out half as beautiful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8T2DXjSUtQ&feature=related

I had just determined dates and everything for my visit to New Orleans and I will still go, it will just have to be pushed back until I can figure out a good time.

Los Angeles is also still on my radar.

Actuallly, right now my heart and mind are open to any new, positive and worthwhile experiences personally and professionally.

It's been an amazing and productive week!

I conducted an awesome interview with the crew of "Our Town" at Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills, MI. And, I was able to meet the amazingly talented Will Young who is starring in the show. He will also be playing Ernie Harwell in the man who has inspired my life as a writer and artist, Mitch Albom's "Ernie."

Stay tuned for my piece on "Our Town."

I hope to be able to interview Mitch Albom about his new show. I would die! Love him!

The sunshine was out yesterday and it is out again today. The flowers are blooming and I feel like I am getting my mojo back!

P.s. Follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/gaudygirl and don't forget to check out my new dating blog at www.sam-white.tumblr.com.

Thanks for reading guys!

Have a great weekend!

xoxo
